One page per class, newest at the top of your teacher’s list: the agenda we followed and anything to do before next time. Away? Start here, run the warm-up yourself, and attempt the build before reading anything about it — the page holds the plan, but the ideas earn their names in the room.
Our semester runs in four units:
- Unit 1 — Programs That Decide: instructions precise enough for a machine, variables, input and output, and the decisions a program makes, ending in The Helper Script.
- Unit 2 — Repetition and Data: loops discovered the hard way, lists, text, and tables, ending in The Data Digest.
- Unit 3 — Structure, Files, and Design: functions, decomposition, and data that survives the program closing, ending in The Toolbox.
- Unit 4 — Building for Someone Else: interfaces with dignity, testing with real people, debugging as a craft, and what computing costs the world — ending at Launch Day.
Running underneath Units 3 and 4 is The Community App: a real person in the school or the neighbourhood, a modest problem in their own words, and an app you build with them and hand over so they can keep using it long after you have gone.
